Until the early 20th century, Moriond was part of the “montagnettes” which ranged between 1400 and 1600 m altitude. It was a zone of hamlets inhabited only in spring and autumn by families owning meadows or pastures at a time when the economy of Saint-Bon (Courchevel) was based on breeding and cheese making.
