ABOUT MERIBEL
Part of the 3 Valleys Ski Resort
THE MERIBEL VALLEY RESORT
Located in the Allue Valley, at an altitude of 1450 m, at the heart of the 3 Valleys Domainm the largest ski area in the world, Méribel is a ski resort where charm hasn’t stopped enticing a diverse and expecting clientele fore more than 70 years. Méribel is a dynamic and chic resort at the heart of all the skiing that goes on in the ski area you can’t miss, the prestigious 3 Valleys Domain, the biggest in the world !
Méribel is one of the most attractive resorts for several reasons : its environment is very well preserved, its chalets are made with traditional Savoie architecture completely covered with wood and stone, all this conserves an authentic character in a valley composed of 14 villages which are inhabited all year long.
The Méribel Valley resort includes Méribel-les-Allues, Méribel-Village and Méribel-Mottaret. It’s an authentic Olympic station where you can go down the slopes in various forms of snow sports : Alpine skiing, freestyle or freeride skiing or snowboarding, whatever your level.
From the Méribel ski area, we can point out its panoramic view to take your breath away, its wooded areas of wild charm to ski through on days with not as fine weather, its sunny slopes directed toward the East and the West, the quality of snow guaranteed by its high elevation (80% of the slopes are above 1800 m high, 42% is equipped with snow makers), its snow equipment – cable cars, chair lifts, snow makers…–, state-of-the-art technology that allows us to get on the lifts without waiting too long and a big advantage : we can go with our skis on foot no matter where we start.
Méribel is also a hiker’s paradise, criss-crossing the many paths in the surrounding nature from the Altiport, Allues or Méribel-Mottaret. Easy paths will allow you to try a new route every day or choose a more suitable route according to your physical condition. Before heading out, just stop by for more information on the status of the snow that particular day.
A pedestrian pass will give you access to the cable cars at different starting points in the valley and will make it easier for you to get back to the station. It’ll even give you access to several ski lifts in the 3 Valleys Domain and you’ll be able to take the shuttles at these stations (except the Pass Montagne shuttles connecting Méribel to Courchevel).
SKI LESSONS
Reserve your Alpine skiing lessons for beginners as well as competitive skiers for snowboarding, freestyle skiing, Telemark skiing, snow-skating, carving, and cross-country skiing at the Méribel ESF or through our agency.

SKI GUIDES
We strongly recommend hiring a ski instructor or a high mountain guide to accompany you to best initiate or help ameliorate your back country skiing in the biggest ski area in the world as back country skiing requires experience, knowledge of the surroundings and skill. With your guides, you’ll limit the risk of danger and you’ll be able to experience the high of the powdery snow on the secret routes away from the crowds.
With the help of your guide, you’ll be able to gain confidence and skill as well as explore the most beautiful paths. They’ll also introduce you to skiing on glaciers, heliskiing (Switzerland, Italy…), outings in sealskin, exploration hikes of the Gébroulaz glacier, natural and man-made icefalls, accessible to everyone in good physical condition. In addition, you can try ski trekking in Chamonix/Zermatt crossing over glaciers of la Vanoise, Haute-Maurienne, of the Massif du Grand Paradis, etc…
A specialized instructor can also accompany you in cross country skiing and snow shoeing in the powder, in the middle of breath-taking landscapes.

We’ll take care of finding you an experienced nanny who can speak the language of your choice to take care of your children of 3 months and older and we’ll gladly organize sports and cultural activities, for indoors (fun hands-on activities, reading, singing, movies…) and outdoors (sledding and different snow games, tobogganing, going on walks in the garden…) for your children of 18 months to 3 years old, a half-day or full-day.
